The seaside town of Hua Hin (with the literal meaning ‘Stone Head’), which was named after the rocks at the side of the Northern end of the charming beach with the powdery sand, is less than 200 km south of Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. In the past, Raruk Hua Hin was a vacant piece of land on the Naeb Khehart Road with one old house of wood situated in the middle. Constructed during the reign of King Rama VI and its age of more than 100 years old, the 2 storey house of wood is very famous. It is to be mentioned that this house of wood is the highlight of Raruk Hua Hin. In addition to this, the other amusing artifacts comprise a model of a lighthouse and an idol of an angler fighting with a huge fish reflecting that Hua Hin has been a village pertaining to the fishing people. Formerly, this idol was situated in front of the shrine of the Tabtim Goddess. Unluckily, visitors can’t take the view of the idol anymore for it has been in the condition of dilapidating as times pass by.
Situated not far from the downtown of Hua Hin, Hua Hin Safari (the Amusement Park), which takes the drive of only 5 minutes. This water park, which remains open daily, is operated from 10 am to 05 pm. Situated on the main street opposite to Klai Kangwon Palace, Plearnwan (Local Market for Shopping) is operated daily (Sundays to Thursdays at the time from 10 am to 10 pm and Fridays to Saturdays on time of midnight). The word ‘Plearn’ is a combination of ‘play’ and ‘learn’ and the word Wan is taken from the word ‘wunwan’ having the meaning of good old days. It is an Eco-village featuring a faux Thai high street in 1950 for the generations of old time to remember their good old days and to the younger for learning and appreciating the culture of traditions. The shops of this place are furnished in the style of old fashion with advertisements, magazines of fashion, posters of films, appliances and collections taking the visitors back in the period of nostalgic. Plearnwan also comprises a radio station amusing the people whole day long with oldies. Along with this, visitors can the photos of vintage with a drawn picture of the station of Hua Hin as a back drop.
At the end of every week, a fair of fun is organized with a cinema of outdoor, a variety of entertaining games and side stalls and a wheel of Ferries. Here, the people can enjoy dishes at Kha-on Kaengron, a famous local restaurant, Thai style rolls of noodles, ice pops, Thai coconut pancakes, Thai style soft drink and the coffee of this style. ‘Piman Plearnwan’, which is a vintage hotel, can provide its guest the experience of welcome with their colorful guest rooms of retro style.
